How Hotkey™ Works
The Hotkey™ proximity sensor detects when you approach with a pan or kettle and activates the boiling water function hands-free — no need to press a button when your hands are full or wet. For safety, the boiling function requires deliberate proximity activation and will not dispense accidentally. Without the Hotkey™ active, the tap operates as a standard 3-way mixer (hot, cold, filtered) only.

Is the boiling water truly boiling?The Proboil.4E delivers water at 80–98°C — hot enough for tea, coffee, instant noodles, and blanching vegetables. The temperature is adjustable within this range. At 98°C it is effectively at boiling point for most practical purposes.
How does Hotkey™ work safely?The proximity sensor requires deliberate activation — you must approach the spout with a vessel to trigger the boiling function. It will not dispense accidentally. The thermally insulated spout means the exterior remains safe to touch even when dispensing boiling water. Without the Hotkey™ active, the tap functions as a standard 3-way mixer only.
