A moulded internal sleeve centres and supports the pipe, whilst Multifit and friction washers ensure a secure seal. The joint is completed hand-tight — no tools required. This makes the ST90CB10-70 compatible with a wider range of existing pipework than a standard solvent weld outlet.
What is the water seal depth, and why does it matter?
The water seal depth is 50mm. The water seal is the depth of water retained in the trap that prevents sewer gases from entering the bathroom. The minimum required by UK building regulations is 25mm. A 50mm seal provides significantly better odour protection and is less likely to evaporate in infrequently used showers.
