Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the same as the Roper Rhodes Neutron?
Yes — the Essentials EC505 is the same seat as the Roper Rhodes Neutron (model 8901WSC-SF), reboxed and sold under the Essentials brand. The dimensions, specification, and Secure Fit hinge system are identical. If you’d prefer the branded version, see the Roper Rhodes Neutron listing.
Will this seat fit my toilet?
This is a universal seat designed to fit a wide range of toilet pans. It includes both top fix and under fix options, and the adjustable hinges allow for fine-tuning to achieve a secure, stable fit. If you’re unsure whether it will fit your specific pan, contact us at customerservice@bubblegumbathrooms.co.uk or call 01603 381095 with your toilet model and we’ll advise.
What is the Secure Fit system?
Secure Fit is an adjustable hinge technology that keeps the toilet seat firmly centred on the pan at all times — eliminating the common frustration of a seat that shifts or rotates during use. The hinges are easy to adjust and lock securely in position once set.
How do I remove the seat for cleaning?
Simply press both quick-release buttons simultaneously and lift the seat clear of the pan. This makes it easy to clean both the seat and the area around the hinge fixings thoroughly. Reattachment is equally straightforward.
Is thermoset better than thermoplastic?
Thermoset is a higher-grade material than standard thermoplastic. It is denser, more resistant to scratches and staining, and retains its colour and finish for longer — making it a more durable long-term choice.
Can I order if the item shows as out of stock?
Yes — we can fulfil this product even when stock shows as zero. Place your order as normal and we’ll confirm lead time with you. For urgent enquiries, contact us at customerservice@bubblegumbathrooms.co.uk or call 01603 381095.
